CM directs Collectors to initiate welfare programmes

Hyderabad, Apr 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the District Collectors concerned to initiate welfare programmes under Indira Kranthi Patham (IKP).

Presiding over a video conference with the district collectors to take stock of the implementation of first phase of 'Prajapatham' programme in the state here, Dr Reddy said the district administrations should take up the programme on a mission mode.

He said the government had given priority to solve drinking water problem, power shortage and providing employment under NREGP.

He ordered the officials concerned to register the names of those who did not get the ration cards.

Dr Reddy said the second phase of 'Prajapatham' programme, which would give priority to solve the civic amenities, would be launched tomorrow.
