BJP for aggressive campaigning for remaining Phases in UP

Lucknow, Apr 22 (UNI) Encouraged with the poll predictions about party's prospects in the first three phases, Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) today announced to launch an aggressive campaign for the remaining four phases of elections to Uttar Pradesh assembly.

Refusing to disclose details, BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said a meeting between party president Rajnath Singh and alliance partners is slated this evening to chalk out the strategy.

''we will now make our campaigning more focussed and aggressive, '' he added.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Naqvi claimed that after three-phases of elections, now it is clear that BJP is going to get absolute majority in the polls and its ' Vijay Rath' cannot be stopped now.

Reiterating that the UP poll results will give a new dimension to the country's politics, he said it will also result in the fall of the United Progressive Alliance(UPA) government at the centre which has failed to control terrorism and price rise.

He also claimed that except for BJP, ''no other party is democratic.'' ''While SP is the party of brothers, the Congress is of Sonia-Rahul-Priyanka. The BSP starts with Mayawati and ends with her name,'' he said.

Giving detail about the campaigning of the party leaders during the UP polls, the BJP vice-president said party president Rajnath Singh had addressed more than 110 election meetings while party's face for the top post Kalyan Singh had also covered more than 100 constituencies.

Former deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, senior BJP leaders Murli Manohar Joshi, Sushma Sawaraj, Venkaiah Naidu, Kalraj Mishra, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, cricketer Navjot Singh Siddhu, cine stars Shatrughan Sinha, Vinod Khanna and Hemamalini were among other prominent people who addressed several election meetings in the state, Mr Naqvi said.
