Bihar to top the education index by 2010

Darbhanga, Apr 22 (UNI) Union Human Resource Development Minister of State Ali Ashraf Fatmi today said Bihar will top the education index by 2010.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Kasturba Gandhi Residential School (KGRS) at Gausa Ghat near here, Mr Fatmi said the Centre has planned to make Bihar a leading state in educational sector.

He also insisted on female literacy and urged the people to promote education among women.

Madarsas along with other local schools were being associated with the Sarvashiksa Abhiyan, he said announcing that a Central school as well as a Navodaya Vidyalaya would be opened at Benipur subdivisional headquarter in the district.
