Bachchan Sr apologises for assault on photo journalists
Mumbai, Apr 22 (UNI) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan today apologised for the scuffle between mediapersons and security guards yesterday outside his 'Prateeksha' residence in Juhu that left three photo-journalists injured.
The incident happened when Amitabh was driving Aishwarya and Abhishek back to their home after the 'Bidai' ceremony at the Bandra residence of the actress. When the Bachchans reached the gate of the bungalow, security guards stepped in to ensure they were not mobbed by photo-journalists.
The stengun-toting commandoes had assaulted the mediapersons.
Lensmen B L Soni of 'DNA', Virendra Chawla of 'Punjab Kesari' and Satish Bate of 'Hindustan Times' suffered bruises.
The Bachchans, who had gone to Tirupati after the Ash-Abhishek nuptial, came back today. Amitabh Bachchan came out from his residence ''Jalsa'' and apologised to the waiting journalists for the incident. ''it is 'unfortunate' and I am sorry about it'', he said.
He said his friend Samajwadi party leader Amar Singh's commandoes were involved in the incident and he had nothing to do with it.
When questioned by the media as why they were kept out of the marriage functions, Amitabh clarified that the family just wanted to have a private wedding and when the time comes they will let the media have photographs of the marriage.
