Abandoned female child found hanging from tree

Phagwara, Apr 22: A newly born female child wrapped in a piece of cloth was found hanging from the branch of a tree by the residents of Katarian village, near here this morning.

Giving details the police here said that a farmer, Ranjit Singh found the abandoned child hanging from a tree while he was going to the field. He immediately brought down the child and informed the village panchayat members, who in turn informed the Behram police station.

The cops along with women members of the panchayat got the child admitted at the civil hospital in Banga. The hospital authorities said that the child was in good health.

The police have registered a case and begun investigations.
