977 HPSFC employees to be regularised, says CM

Shimla, Apr 22 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government will consider regularisation of 977 daily wagers of the HP State Forest Corporation (HPSFC) who have completed minimum prescribed years of service.

Addressing the fifth general conference of HPSFC Employees Federation here, he said daily wagers who have completed their minimum prescribed years of service and deployed in other departments, boards and corporations would be regularised after completing all the formalities.

Promising all possible financial help to the public sector units (PSUs), Mr Singh said his government would not close or merge any board or corporation in the near future.

He said the apple has revolutionalised the economy of the state since it had been contributing significantly towards the gross domestic product (GDP), besides providing employment to people and generating self-employment avenues.

Previously the green trees were being cut down for transportation of wooden cartons to the market and 84,000 trees were felled annually to meet the demand, he said.

He said with the introduction of card board cartons, the felling of green trees has been banned completely and has added in increasing the green cover in the state.

Listing out the benefits for the employees announced by the government, the Chief Minister said his government had implemented the recommendations of fifth Pay Commission which were delivering financial benefits estimated to be over Rs 840 crore to the state employees.
