3 killed, 15 seriously hurt as van hits tree

Visakhapatnam, Apr 22 (UNI) Three people were killed and 15 seriously injured when the van in which they were travelling hit a tree at Madhrathi junction on Anakapalli-Chodavaram road about 50 km from here today.

Police said the van was returning with the pasengers from Krishnpalem when the accident occurred.

The deceased were driver B Narsingarao(24), Appala Naidu (50) and B Ramjee (15).

While two died on the spot, the driver succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.

The injured were admitted to NTR Government Hospital at Anakapalli and King George Hospital (KGH) in the city, police added.
