World's renowned leaders to attend international seminar

New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) Over 100 top Muslim religious leaders, senators and scholars from various parts of the world, including JUI-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pakistan's NWEP Chief Minister A K Durrani from Pakistan will gather here on monday to attend an international seminar on Maulana Asad Madni,a strong opponent of two-nation theory that divided the country on the communal lines.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the seminar, which will also be attended by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi,Home Minister Shivraj Patil,External Affair Minister Pranab Mukherjee and leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, Milli Council, Majlis Mushawarat and Darul Uloom, Deoband.

General Secretary of the Jamait Ulema Hind Maulana Mehmood Madni told UNI that a 25 member parliamentarian delegation from Pakistan will attend the seminar while 50 Islamic scholars and theologians will come for Bangladesh for the event. The Bangladesh delegation will be led by Mufti Abdur Rehman. Similarly, Maulana Ayub Mohammed from South Africa will also be present in the seminar.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman and his party colleagues will also hold talks with the Indian leaders on the ongoing peace process and other issue. The Maulana is a strong votary of Indo-Pak friendship and had met Dr Singh several times in the past to pursue his mission of close bilateral ties between the two countries.
