WBPNTUC president lashes out at Left Front govt

Asansol, Apr 21 (UNI) West Bengal Pradesh National Trade Union Congress(WBPNTUC) President Subrata Mukherjee today strongly criticised the Left Front Government for their alleged atrocities on poor villager, in the name of industrialisation.

While addressing the national executive meeting of Indian National Transport Workers' Federation here, Mr Mukherjee 'cautioned' the state government on the issue of Nandigram and Singur. ''Industrialisation cannot be achieved without the consent of the landowners, since an honest policy never comes true without the people's support,'' he added.

Mr K S Verma, General Secretary of the India National Transport Workers Federation alleged that there was no pay structure for the private and state transport workers in our country, as a result the workers suffered badly.

Mr Samar Chakraborty, secretary General of WBPNTUC and Mr Sukumar Bandyopadhyay, president of the Asansol Bus and Mini bus Workers' Union also stressed to implement Provident Fund, Gratuity and ESI facilities for these workers.
