Varanasi: 6,000 detonators, 400 gelatins recovered

Varanasi, Apr 21: District police claimed to have foiled a major naxal misadventure with the recovery of huge cache of explosives, including 6,000 detonators and 400 gelatin sticks from the Ramnagar area here tonight.

Station Officer (Ramnagar) K D Tripathi said here two rucksacks containing 6,000 detonators alongwith fuse wires and 400 gelatin sticks were recovered from the bushes near the Vishwa Sundari Bridge.

Bomb disposal squad was pressed into action, which concluded the recovered explosives were enough to wreak large-scale destruction.
