Two newly-married brides poisoned to death

Hajipur, Apr 21 (UNI) Two newly-married brides were poisoned to death, while a student died in a road accident in separate incidents under different police station areas in Vaishali district today.

Police here said that a 23-year-old newly married Pooja Singh was poisoned to death by her in-laws as she failed to fulfil their dowry demands at Rajput colony under town police station. The in-laws fled after the incident. The victim was the daughter of sub-inspector Abhay Kumar Singh who was posted in Patna.

In an another incident, a newly-married bride Rubi Devi was poisoned to death at Harpur Belwa under Mahua police station area by her in-laws, who too managed to escape after committing the crime.

Meanwhile, an eighth standard student, Tinku was run over by a speeding bus near Ekara chowk, under Sadar police station on Muzaffarpur-Hajipur national highway.

Investigation was being conducted in all these cases, police added.
