Two more arrested in Ludhiana City Centre scam
Ludhiana, Apr 21 (UNI) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau today arrested two more people in the multi crore City Centre scam case in which former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is amongst the 18 accused.
Those who were taken into custody were Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) SE Manmohan Singh and Executive Officer (EO) D C Garg, Bureau officials here said.
The two were later presented before a judicial magistrate, who remanded them to two days police custody.
With these arrests, the total number of people taken into custody in the case risen to four. Earlier, the Bureau had arrested two officials of a private firm that had provided consultancy services to Today Homes and Infrastructure, the company that had executed the City Centre project under the supervision of LIT.
Besides Capt Singh, the other main accused in the case are former minister Choudhry Jagjit Singh, former LIT chairman Paramjit Singh Sibia and senior officials of Today Homes. Capt Singh, who returned from abroad early this month is currenctly in Delhi and have yet to be arrested.
The multi crore Ludhiana city centre scam was probed by the Vigilance Bureau and thereafter a case was registered here last month.
