Tripura to open more schools

Agartala, Apr 21 (UNI) To bring down the drop-out rate and achieve 100 per cent literacy, the Tripura government has decided to open 211 more primary and 59 senior basic schools.

An official release today stated that 30 Model schools will be established in and around the 33 growth centres of the state.

Inaugurating a newly constructed school in the South district yesterday, Education Minister Keshab Majumder said so far education was concerned the state was in eigth position in the country and wanted to grab the first position.

Besides, 125 educational insltitutions would be brought under computer courses shortly.

Presently, about 200 institutions are already imparting computer courses, Mr Majumder said.
