TN Assembly to discuss demands for police dept: CM
Chennai, Apr 21 (UNI) Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said the Tamil Nadu Assembly will take up for discussions the Demand for Grants for the Police Department in the next two days.
Speaking at a function here this evening to distribute President and Chief Minister's medals for meritorious police personnel, Mr Karunanidhi said during the course of the dicussions, the government will put forward proposals for the benefit of the Police Department.
In 2006, his government had appointed 682 sub inspectors including 111 women.
The government had also ordered the appointment of 4,543 police personnel including 1,379 women. The recruitment process was underway.
He also recalled the benefits announced for the police personnel by his government including in matters pertaining to promotions.
