Threat from accused forces molestation victim to commit suicide

New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) Fed up of regular threats from the accused who had molested her, a 32-year-old spinster allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at her Sadar Bazar residence in south-west Delhi.

Renu Sharma, who conducted tution classes for a living, allegedly consumed poison at her Guru Kripa Nagar house in Sadar Bazar area yesterday, while her parents were away to a temple in Kalkaji, according to sources.

In her suicide note Renu wrote that the accused of her 2003 molestation case would regularly threaten her and that she could take it no more.

Just before her death, Renu had called her cousin saying she wasn't feeling well and that her condition was worsening. On reaching home, her cousin found her dead.

Renu was molested in 2003 and a case against three persons was on at Tis Hazari court here, sources added.
