Sunil Mittal honoured by Pant University

New Delhi, Apr 21: Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman and Group CEO, Bharti Enterprises was today honoured with the degree of Doctor of Science by the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology.

The degree has been conferred on Mr Mittal for his invaluable contribution for the welfare of the society and the nation as a whole, in the field of his profession in particular and and other areas of public interest in general, a statement said.

Mr Mittal said, ''I am delighted to receive the honour from such a renowed institution. The award of this prestigious degree is a testimony to the work that led through Bharti Enterrises towards some key testimonial projects, which have served the nation in a very meaningful manner.'' The corporate giant got the award on the 23rd convocation of the University by the Governor of Uttrakhand and Chancellor of the University Sudarshan Agarwal.

He has earlier been awarded the Padma Bhushan Award by the Indian government for his contribution towards the development of a world-class telecom sector in the country.
