Record campus recruitment in SRM college

Kolkata, Apr 21(UNI) It is not always the IITs that bag the fat pay packets, with the SRM Engineering College having placed 1225 of their 1500 students in 130 MNCs in India for 2006-07, with an annual package ranging from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5.6 lakh.

A company release today said the leading companies that recruited SRM college students, include Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and HCL Techonologies. Wipro held the highest record of recruiting 169 students in a single campus recruitment in India.

SRM University Chancellor T R Pachamuthu, ''We are extremely delighted at the SRM Engineering college exceptional record on campus recruitment. We are planning to further strengthen our ties with the corporate houses by inviting them to our campus to advise students on the industry expectations.'' He also said this effort would further encourage SRM students to comply with the industry standards thereby increasing our track record year by year''.
