Punjab govt appoints 4 new district police chiefs
Chandigarh, Apr 21 (UNI) The Punjab government appointed four new district police chiefs while transferring 28 other police officials, all in the rank of Superindent of Police (SP).
According to an official release, Iqbal Singh has been appointed as SSP of Amritsar (rural) while Lok Nath will be the district police chief of Gurdaspur. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar had been appointed SSP of Ludhiana (rural) and R N Dhoke is the SSP of Batala police district.
Amritsar (rural) and Ludhiana (rural) police districts were earlier known as Majitha and Jagraon police districts respectively.
Tulsi Ram will head the Special Narcotic Cell at Amritsar.
