Tripurs: Police arrests two arms seller
Agartala, Apr 21: Teliamura police in Tripura's west district arrested two persons with a revolver near NH 44 on thursday night.
Police here said today that acting on a tip off the police apprehended the duo, who were moving suspicously on the road, near Hawaibari area and recovered .22 factory made revolver.
On interrogation the duo have confessed to have been involved in arms selling and revealed the names of two more persons from Krishnapur in Teliamura and Taranagar in Sidhai area respectively, who were also involved in the racket, police said.
Police had also arrested them the same night.
Police suspect that the gang was active in selling and purchasing arms for a long time.
A massive search operation had been launched by the police bust the entire racket.
However, it was not clear whether the gang was involved with any underground forces, police added.
Meanwhile, a hardcore rebel of banned All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) surrendered to the SDPO of Sabroom in south district on Thursday and deposited a Chinese revolver with five live rounds.
