PMK supporter hacked to death in TN

Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, Apr 21 (UNI) A Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) supporter was hacked to death in a suspected case of gang rivalry early today near Kamarajar Grounds at Ariyalur.

According to police here, M Raja (24) alias Thendral Raja, against whom several cases were pending, was waylaid by an armed gang while returning from a DMK public meeting.

His body bore several cuts andinjuries. Raja was recently let out on a conditional bail in connection with a case.

Senior police officials rushed to the spot and took the body to the government hospital at Ariyalur for post-mortem.

Police pickets have been posted in and around the area to prevent any untoward incident.

Special Police teams have been formed to nab the culprits.
