PMK plea on military help to Lanka
Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, Sep 21 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder-leader S Ramadoss today appealed to the people of Tamil Nadu, leaders of political movements in the state and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to impress upon the Centre to protect Eelam Tamils.
In a press release here, Dr Ramadoss said the Tamils in the state should ensure India honours its promise of not providing any military help to the Sri Lankan Government.
''The time has come for Tamils in the state to wake up and the government to end its silence on the issue. If we miss this opportunity, the Eelam Tamils will be annihilated.
''The reports of India providing weapons to Sri Lanka for using them on Eelam Tamils has come as a shock to Tamils across the world.
''The military help will only serve as a fillip to the war on Tamils by the Sri Lankan Armed Forces and lead to enormous destruction.
''The Indian Government should not provide any military help to Sri Lanka. This is not only the wish of Indian Tamils but also of the six crore Tamils in this state,'' Dr Ramadoss said.
