Pawar urges need to strengthen women's self help groups

Pune, Apr 21 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar today urged the need to strengthen the women's self help groups (SHGs) for a strong economy.

Mr Pawar was speaking at a function organised by the ''Mahila Bachat Gut'' at the Agriculture College grounds here.

He stressed that banks should extend all support to such groups.

He lauded the service renderred by women in different sectors, and cited the example of women pilots.
