New political equations after UP poll: Mulayam
Basti/Gonda/Siddharthnagar, Apr 21 (UNI) Terming the Samajwadi Party the ''right choice'' for voters, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today claimed that new political equations would emerge after the ongoing assembly polls.
Addressing election meetings in Basti, Gonda and Siddharthnagar districts, Mr Yadav said, ''after the conclusion of the Vidhan Sabha polls, the UPA regime at the Centre will fall and new political equations will emerge in the state.'' Flaying the UPA government for meting out step-motherly treatment to UP, he said, ''it is sad that a small state like Delhi gets the maximum quantum of funds for development as compared to other states.'' ''The Congress has lost its sheen in UP. If voted to power, it will push UP towards darkness. BSP chief Mayawati wants to jail me though she is selling party tickets. At present, the SP is the right choice,'' he emphasised.
People have to decide whether they want a secular party like the SP or a communal party like the BJP, he said.
The Congress, the BJP and the BSP were hatching a conspiracy against the SP, but they would not succeed as there was a strong SP undercurrent in UP, he claimed.
''Farmers' loans will be waived off, Kanya Vidya Dhan amount increased to Rs 25,000, while education will be made free for all. I do not make hollow promises. All the announcements will be implemented within 24 hours of the SP retaining power in the state,'' the SP chief asserted.
