Nadiad, Gujarat, Apr 21 (UNI) Nadiad town today observed a bandh to protest against the murder of three members of a family and ''deteriorating law and order situation'' in the state.

Three members of a family were found murdered by suspected robbers at Navdeep Society near Vaniawad circle in Nadiad town on Thursday night. The victims have been identified as Rajnikant Natwarlal Parekh 63, his wife Geetaben Parekh 58 and mother Shardaben Natwarlal Parekh (85).

The call for today's bandh was given by the Nadiad Chamber of Commerce. All shops and commercial establishments remained closed in response to the call, however, but vehicular traffic was not affected.

Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Dinsha Patel had also written a letter to Chief Minister Narendra Modi yesterday expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He urged Mr Modi to take necessary measures to bring down the crime rate.
