Mayawati vows to control inflation if voted to power

Banda, Apr 21 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati today said sustained efforts would be made to control inflation if her party was voted to power.

''Besides inflation, unemployed would be employed and there would be the end of 'goonda raj'. If I will be voted to power, UP will revive its golden future,'' Ms Mayawati said while addressing an election gathering here.

Denouncing the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP), the BSP leader alleged, ''It is painful that CM Mulayam Singh Yadav is encouraging crime. He has transformed UP into a land of crimes. Even now, he is not satisfied as he has given tickets to dacoits in Banda and Chitrakoot districts to further destroy the state.'' Reproaching the Mulayam regime, the former CM charged both Mr Yadav and his close aide Amar Singh to have siphoned off large funds from the state exchequer and were planning to flee the country.

''But, I will not let that happen,''she said.

''After coming to power, I will expose all the wrong doings of Mr Yadav. Just wait and watch,'' the BSP leader underlined.
