Life sentence for convict

Silvasa (Gujarat), Apr 21 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a person for life for kidnapping and murdering a young woman in August-2006.

District and session court judge, Justice S N Sodhankar, in his judgement sentenced lifers Ajaykumar Mevalal Moriya for kidnapping and murdering Sonny alias Anju on August 26, 2006.

Ajaykumar had brought Anju here from Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, his native place also, in August 2006 with false promises and later murdered her while assaulting her with a wine bottle.

Police had charged Ajaykumar for kidnapping and murder under IPC 420 and 302, respectively.
