First day Sino-India border talks end
Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, Apr 21 (UNI) The first day of talks between Indian and Chinese officials on the contentious border dispute ended here this evening.
The talks, which began at 1715 hrs, were wrapped up at around 2010 hrs at the Taj Garden Hotel here. As many as 21 delegates from both sides participated in the discussions held amid tight security.
However, there was no media briefing.
Later in the evening, the delegation watched a Bharatanatyam recital at the hotel.
The Indian side was represented by National Security Advisor M K Narayanan and Indian Ambassador to China Nirupama Rao, the Chinese side was headed by Vice-Foreign Minister Dai Dinggud and Chinese Ambassador to India San Yusi.
Earlier, the delegates from both the sides took some time off to visit the famous Sim's Park where they spent about an hour.
A large posse of mediapersons, who had descended in this lush green district famous for tea estates, was denied access to the hotel.
