Farmers threaten road blockade in borders

Mysore, Apr 21 (UNI) A group of farmers today threatened to intensify agitation protesting the final award of Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal by disrupting traffic at Tamil Nadu borders.

"The Kabini Ritha Hitha Rakshana Samithi and farmers from Mysore and Chamarajanagara districts met here today and urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to accept the talks offer from Karnataka Chief Ministers H D Kumarawamy on the Cauvery issue," Samithi President K Shanthakumar said.

Meanwhile the Cauvery agitation continued in Cauvery Basin Districts for the 76th day today. Road blockades and dharnas continued at Mandya, Maddur, Srirangapatna and Pandavapura, in neighbouring Mandya district.

In Mysore, the Cauvery Kirya Samithi continued its signature campaign.
