New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) Citing the CAG report, the BJP today said the Delhi Government had ''misutilised, misappropriated and misused'' thousands of crores of public money and criminal charges should be brought against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Nearly 4,700 crore of public money has either been misused, lost due to negligence or pilfered on account of corruption in the last year, and the indictment of the Delhi government in basic areas of education, health, electricity, water and transport in the CAG report was testimony to it, Delhi BJP president Dr Harsh Vardhan told mediapersons here.

''While the city's premier public hospitals are bereft of 40 per cent of required medical staff strength, ambulances are being used for private purposes, equipment worth crores is lying unused, essential drugs are missing and sub-standard meals are being served under the 'mid-day meal scheme' by unlicenced NGOs.'' Besides this, the CAG report points to Rs 100 crore of public money being given to private electricity companies in violation of standing rules, and cess worth crores to the Delhi Jal Board not being realised, he said, adding that education of nearly two lakh children was also affected as computers worth Rs 13 crore were not used.

''The anomalies are numerous and though such shortcomings have been regularly pointed out during the eight years of Sheila Dikshit's rule, no investigation was carried out to book the guilty or enquiries made for accountability purposes.'' Demanding that a criminal case should be slapped against the Chief Minister, the Delhi BJP chief said ''her attitude has emboldened the rule of lawlessness and made corruption flourish in all departments''.

And above all, Ms Dikshit raised doubts over the CAG report by brushing it aside, saying it was just another report, Mr Vardhan added.
