Court frames charges against JD(U) MP

Chapra, Apr 21 (UNI) A local court here today framed charges against Janta Dal United MP Prabhunath Singh in a case of assaulting jail inmates and obstructing public servants in discharging their duties.

The charges were framed against Mr Singh under the various sections of Indian Penal Code(IPC) by Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate(SDJM) of Chapra Manoj Shankar. However, Mr Singh denied the charges levelled against him in court.

According to the charges, in 1995, Mr Singh assaulted inmates of Camp Jail in Chhapra and obstructed the employees of the jail in discharging their official duty. A case was registered in Bhagwan Bazar police station on the directive of the then jailor Moti Lal Tuddu of Chapra Camp Jail.
