Cong, BSP, SP ''abusing'' each other to confuse voters: Rajnath

Santkabirnagar/Basti, Apr 21 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh today alleged that BSP, Congress and SP were together running the government at the Centre and only ''abusing'' each other to confuse voters.

''Gone are the days when voters could be cheated. Now, they have got enlightened and would not let BSP, Congress and SP cheat them,'' Mr Singh said while addressing poll meetings in Santkabirnagar and Basti districts.

Tongue-lashing the opposition, the BJP leader observed ''it is painful that instead of talking about development, both Uttar Pradesh Chief Mminister Mulayam Singh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati are claiming to jail each other if voted to power. How can one expect leaders of such a character to take the state on lines of development?'' ''Both Mulayam and Mayawati have CBI probes going against them and they are sure to be jailed. Therefore, Kalyan Singh is the right choice to be seated on Chief Minister's seat,'' he underlined.

Hitting out at the Mulayam regime, Mr Singh said the state government, which had promised uninterrupted 24-hour power supply, has failed to provide even eight hours of power.

''Crime rate, including rapes have recorded unprecedented hike under the Mulayam regime...the unemployment allowance to youth as promised is also not being given,'' he alleged.

Inveighing Mayawati, the BJP president, also a former UP chief minister, said she was proliferating corruption by selling party tickets.

Scoffing at the Congress-led UPA regime, he said the Centre as well as the Uttar Pradesh government were equally responsible for the rising inflation rate.

''After BJP's success in Uttarakhand and Punjap assembly polls, besides the MCD election, one thing is sure that over the years, the mass base of BJP has increased. Now, no one can stop the party from coming to power in UP,'' he said.
