Aspiring actress-model Janhvi released

Mumbai, Apr 21 (UNI) Aspiring actress and model Janhvi Kapoor, who made attempted suicide on Thursday night in front of mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow 'Pratiksha', was released today after spending 12 hours in preventive custody.

Janhvi, who kicked up a controversy during the mega marriage bash of Abhishek Bachchan with Aishwarya Rai yesterday by her unaborted suicide bid, had been arrested under section 309 (attempt to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.

She was produced before the city court the same day.

However, she was later released on bail for a sum of Rs 10,000.

''Janhvi Kapoor was taken into preventive custody at 0130 hrs today, but was released this afternoon,'' a Juhu police told UNI today.

The 26-year-old starlet, who also featured in Abhishek starrer 'Dus', had slit her wrist on Thursday night alleging that Abhishek had an affair with her and had now backtracked from his promise of marrying her.
