Anand fire brigade employees observe day's strike

Anand, Apr 21 (UNI) The fire brigade personnel here today went on a day's strike protesting against the assault on one of their colleagues, allegedly by the sons of a local municipal councillor.

Dilipbhai Manibhai Chavda, who was assaulted, has lodged a police complaint against Lalabhai and Prashantbhai, sons of municipal councillor Pushpaben Patel Pushpaben had requisitioned a water tanker from the fire brigade department but the request was not heeded following which her two sons had assaulted Dilipbhai in the fire brigade's office, according to the complaint.

Fire officer Kamlesh Brahmbhatt and his staff today gave a representation to the chief of officer of Anand nagarpallika Nitin Bodat. They also met the district collector R N Joshi and submitted a memorandum in this regard.
