A new chapter in celluloid history
Kolkata, Apr 21 (UNI) A piece of celluloid history will come alive this month with New Theatres celebrate their platinum jubilee bringing forward some of the priceless gems from their repertoire.
The five-day festival beginning April 23 will be inaugurated by Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi.
Announcing this here yesterday, CEO of New Theatre Dilip Sarkar said, ''We are very happy to bring forward this festival.'' ''The festival will show films under three categories - thespians, pioneers and musical greats - besides an exhibition of photographs.'' Some of the films on show will be like 'Vidyapati', 'Pahela Aadmi', 'Yatrik', 'My Siter' and 'Udayer Pathe'.
They will also showcase immortals like P Barua, R C Boral and P Mullick.
