5 KMC employees suspended

Kolhapur, Apr 21 (UNI) The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) today suspended five employees in connection with a Rs 1.18 lakh scam in the Town Planning department.

The suspension orders were passed by KMC Commissioner Kunal Kumar and Deputy Commissioner Ganesh Deshmukh, a KMC spokesperson said.

The five have been suspended for showing negligence in discharging their duties.

Earlier, two employees had already been suspended and the service of a third had been terminated. The Commissioner has also ordered an inquiry into the role of seven others.
