40 absent Jammu and Kashmir officials suspended

Srinagar, Apr 21: Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended 40 officials of different government departments after they were found absent from duty, an official spokesman said today.

He said Deputy Commissioner of newly-created Kulgam district in south Kashmir conducted a surprise check at-various departments including, Power Development Department (PDD), fund office, sub- district hospital, irrigation, youth services and sports, Animal Husbandry and flood control and found 40 officials absent from duty.

He ordered their immediate suspension from service besides other disciplinary action.
