19 lakh tonne wheat reaches Haryana mandis
Chandigarh, Apr 21 (UNI) Over 19.36 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of wheat has arrived in the 360 mandis of the state so far.
Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that out of the total wheat arrival, 17.60 lakh MTs had been procured by six Government procuring agencies while traders had purchased 1.76 lakh MTs of wheat.
He said that HAFED had procured 6.53 lakh MTs, Food and Supplies Department had procured 4.36 lakh MTs, Food Corporation of India 2.09 lakh MTs, Agro Industries Corporation 1.70 lakh MTs and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 1.66 lakh MTs and Confed 1.25 lakh MTs.
Deputy Chief Minister said that Kaithal district was leading with a total of 3.40 lakh MTs followed by Karnal 3.37 lakh MTs, Fatehabad 2.66 lakh MTs, Jind 2.52 lakh MTs, Sirsa 2.10 lakh MTs, Kurukshetra 1.95 lakh MTs and Panipat 1.08 lakh MTs.
Mr Chander Mohan said a sum of Rs 2195 crore had been sanctioned for the payment of wheat.
