UPA - a bus with many drivers: Venkaiah
Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka, Apr 20 (UNI) Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today likened the UPA Government at the Centre to a bus with many drivers.
''While Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is in the driver's seat, the steering is in the hands of Super Prime Minister Sonia Gandhi.
While the accelerator is with Ultra Prime Minister Lalu Prasad, the CPI(M) has its foot strongly on the brakes. Above all, the remote control is with DMK President M Karunanidhi, he said amid applause from the huge gathering at a rally here as part of the party's Vikas Yatra.
Mr Naidu claimed that the recent elections to civic bodies in many States have proved the point that the BJP was emerging stronger and stronger day by day. The poll results have also established that the Congress was losing its credibility among the voters.
Criticising the statement of Congress Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi over his family's role in the country's independence and subsequent developments, he demanded that the Gandhi family also own responsibility for the Kashmir fiasco, emergency excesses, Sri Lankan problem and China's aggression.
Coming down heavily on Mr Singh for describing Rahul Gandhi as the future of Uttar Pradesh, he said the future of that State was in the hands of the electorate there and they would show the Congress where it stood in the polls.
He complimented the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government in the State, pointing out that with over 107 per cent revenue growth, the State stood second only to Gujarat.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, in his speech, said the yatra, now being taken out in district headquarters, would also be taken out in the taluk level.
Referring to the High Court staying the lottery ban in the State, he said the Government would take necessary steps to get the stay vacated and apprise the Court of the Government stand.
