Thane, Apr 20 (UNI) Two persons, including a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI), were arrested today by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths for allegedly accepting bribes in separate incidents.

In an incident, the ACB sleuths have apprehended PSI Bajirao Patil, attached to Nalasopara Police Station, while accepting Rs 4000 as bribe from the complainant Qummar Ali Mirza.

Mr Mirza had approached Patil not to seek the police custody of his brother-in-law, who is at present in the judicial custody, in a kidnapping case. The PSI had demanded Rs 5000 to do the needful.

Later, Mr Mirza approached the ACB, who laid a trap and nabbed Patil this evening, ACB sources said.

In another incident in neighbouring Raigad district, the ACB team has arrested an assistant registrar of a cooperative society in Pen tenshil for accepting Rs 15,000 as bribe this evening.

The arrested, identified as Akash Badri, had demanded Rs 20,000 from one Siddesh Hazare for registration of the housing society.

However, the deal was settled for Rs 15,000. Later, Mr Hazare approached the ACB and lodged a complaint against the registrar.

The officials laid a trap and held Badri red-handed while accepting the bribe amount, sources added.
