New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) University of London today formally awarded the Indian School of Business and Finance (ISBF) to impart courses on the degrees that it provides.

ISBF offers students the oppurtunity to acquire University of London degrees in India at an affordable cost. The Univeristy has been in the business of transnational education for a long time and brings to India the concept of borderless education.

Director ISBF Jitin Chadha said '' a sizeable amount of investment has gone into the project which has all been privately invested." With an objective to stem the flow of students going to study abroad, ISBF plans to open more campuses in the national capital Region (NCR) in the coming years.

''Contributing to solving the local capacity and quantity problem, we would like to partner with local institutions who understand the local culture, commerce and needs much better,'' said University of London Vice Chancellor Sir Graeme Davies.

The Moily Committee report talks of expansion, inclusion and excellence as the moving spirit in education. Taking a leaf out of such proposal Gargi College Principal Meera Ramachandran hinted at exploring the possibilty of working in partnership with the University of London in the near future.

University of London was set up in 1836 and is a federation of 19 colleges, including London School of Economics(LSE).

ISBF has been in operation for the last one and half years.
