Traders in Nadiad call for bandh tomorrow

Nadiad, Apr 20 (UNI) Traders have called for a bandh here tomorrow to protest the deteriorating law and order situation in in the town.

The bandh was called after three senior members of a family were allegedly murdered by some unidentified people at Navdeep Society, near Vaniawad circle here last night.

In this connection, Union State Minister of Petroleum Dinsha Patel has written a strongly-worded letter to Narendra Modi today, holding the Chief Minister responsible for law and order and security of the citizens and urged Mr Modi to take strong steps to bring the crime rate down.

''Where will the people go if the state abandons its responsbility of protecting their limbs and lives,'' he asked.

The bodies of Rajnikant Natwarlal Parekh (63), his wife Geetaben Parekh (58) and mother Shardaben Natwarlal Parekh (85) were spotted by a milk vendor, who had gone to deliver the milk. The bodies bore serious injuries inflicted with sharp-edged weapons.

A robbery-cum-murder case has been registered by the Nadiad Police against the unknown people.
