New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) A 60-year-old man along with his wife and nine-year-old son were today found murdered at their Lajpat Nagar residence in South Delhi this morning, allegedly for their property.

The bodies of Chotte Lal Yadav, who hailed from Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, his wife Shanti Devi (50) and their son Rohan alias Deepak were found lying in the drawing room of their Shahadpur Garhi home under Lajpat Nagar police station at about 0800 hrs, said a senior police official.

''While there were stab wounds on the bodies of Chotte Lal and his wife Shanti Devi, the child had been strangled with a belt.'' The weapons -- a knife and belt -- used in stabbing and strangulating them has been recovered, said the official, adding that it seemed to be a job of someone known as there was no forced entry.

Property could have been the motive behind the murder, though investigations were being done taking all angles in view, the official added.

Sources said no ransacking was noticed.

Chotte Lal, who ran a grocery shop, had four flats close to his residence and some property in Faridabad as well, they added.

The couple was issueless and Shanti Devi was Chotte Lal's second wife.

Rohan, who was a Class IX student of DAV school, was their adopted son.
