New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) After a brief respite from scorching heat, mercury continued its rising trend in Delhi for the second day today with the maximum temperature recorded at 39.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.
However, the minimum saw a reverse trend as it fell from yesterday's 24.6 degrees Celsius to 23.8 degrees Celsius.
The Met office has forecast the heat to intensify in the coming days with a rise in day temperature by one to two degrees in Delhi and other parts of North-West India over the next two days.
''Rise in day temperature by one to two degree is likely over North-West India during the next 48 hours,'' it said.
For the next 24 hours, Delhi will mainly have clear sky with the possibility of some thundery development. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 40 degrees tomorrow.
