Station Master averts fire in goods train
Tuni, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 20 (UNI) An alert railway official averted a major disaster today when he saw smoke billowing from a moving coal-laden Goods train today.
Railway sources said when the Kondapalli-bound goods train from Tallacheru, laden with coal was passing through Gullipudi, Station Master Krishnamurthy noticed that smoke was emanating from the 39-40 wagons.
Immediately, Krishnamurthy alerted his counterpart Mr Sharma at Tuni, who stopped the train. Two fire tenders requisitioned by Sharma put out the smoke.
The Chennai Mail suffered a detention of 30 minutes at Tuni station following the incident, the sources added.
