Several parties would split after UP poll: SP

Gorakhpur, Apr 20 (UNI) Expressing confidence of forming the next Uttar Pradesh government, ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) national vice president Janeshwar Mishra today said several parties would split or disintegrate after the state assembly poll.

Addressing newspersons here, Mr Mishra noted that candidates, who buy tickets for contesting the poll, break away and join the winning party.

''So far, in the first three phases of UP poll, SP is being projected as the major gainer. We will definitely come to power,'' he added.

Criticising, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Bahujan Samajwadi Party chief Mayawati, Mr Mishra said the two were hatching a conspiracy against the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led government.

Congress knows it cannot come to power, therefore it has transferred its vote bank to BJP and BSP in several areas.

''The opposition is simply befooling the masses,'' he added.
