Select metals decline on poor industrial demand
Mumbai, Apr 20 (UNI) Select metal prices declined on poor industrial demand in line with the London Metal exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous section, copper utensils eased by Rs 300 per quintal while brass utensils and brass cuttings fell by Rs 500 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and aluminium ingots drifted lower by Rs 400 and Rs 100 per quintal on thin buying support.
Tin slab came down by Rs five per kg on poor demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,400, Copper utensils - Rs 33,200, Brass utensils - Rs 26,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,000.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, Zinc slab - Rs 19,500, Lead ingots - Rs 10,500, Tin slab - Rs 790 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,350 (per kg).
