Sanyal lashes out at Mamata

Barrackpore, Apr 20 (UNI) CPI(ML) General Secretary Kanu Sanyal today charged Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee with ''misguiding'' the peasants at Singur to extract political mileage.

Addressing newsmen here, the veteran Naxalbari leader observed that the peasants, who had formed the Jami Raksha Committee, could have resisted erection of wall around the acquired land if they were not taken to her dharna manch in Kolkata, where she was on a hunger strike.

He said the fast was aimed at fulfiling her own goal.

He also described the Nandigram episode as a fight for capturing area by the CPI(M), but the mass movement forced Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to go on a backfoot.
