Samsung eyes 50 pc market share in Flat Panel TVs

New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) Targetting fifty per cent market share in the Flat Panel TV segment during this fiscal, digital technology leader and the world's largest maker of LCDs Samsung India today unveiled its latest models of Flat Panel televisions, LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs and Plasma TV.

''We aim to play a pivotal role in fuelling the transition from Curved TVs to Flat and Flat Panel TVs in the country by attractive pricing and spreading awareness,'' company's Deputy Managing Director R Zutshi told reporters.

The company launched three LCD TVS - Mosel Blaque, Bordeaux Art, Sonoma Trenz- and four new premium HD plasma televisions, in the C9 and Q9 series.

With the launch of new LCD series, Samsung has 12 LCD models in the range between Rs 2,99,000 and Rs five lakh.

''We are aiming sales of two lakh Flat Panel TVs this year,'' Director Sales Pradeep Tognatta said.

Available in 32, 37, 40 inches screen size, Bordeaux Art LCD has advanced features like 8000: dynamic Contrast ratio, wide colour enhancer, movie Plus function and high definition Multimedia Interface. It ranges between Rs 85,000 and Rs 1,05,000.

1080p full HD, super clear panel, wide colour enhancer, movie plus and 15000:1 Dynamic contrast ratio are distinctive categories of Mosel Blaque LCD model. This model is available at three ranges -- Rs 1,50,000, Rs 2,40,00 and Rs 5,00,000 respectively.

Sonoma Trenz LCD series has some new features like 7000:1 Dynamic contrast ratio, Game mode, swivel stand HD ready display, refined side speaker design with high gloss frame and two HDMI connections for linking with other HD devices.

Four HD plasma televisions are available in the price range between Rs 89,000 and Rs 5,40,000.
