Rival BKU faction announces support to Mulayam
Lucknow, Apr 20 (UNI) Bharatiya Kisan Union (Harpal faction) national president Chaudhary Harpal Singh today asked his activists to support the ruling Samajwadi Party in the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Assembly poll.
Addressing a news conference here, Mr Singh observed that chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was the only leader, who fights for the cause of poor farmers and labourers.
''Mr Yadav's biggest quality is that he delivers, what he promises...he is the real mass leader,'' the BKU leader added.
Mr Singh also listed several developmental and welfare schemes initiated by the state government.
''No one can aspire to rule the state without working for the farmers,'' Mr Singh claimed.
Interestingly, BKU headed by veteran farmers' leader Chaudhary Mahendra Singh Tikait is supporing Congress in the poll.
