Precious metals decline further on thin buying support

Mumbai, Apr 20 (UNI) Silver and Gold declined further as Silver fell by Rs 70 per kg and Gold by Rs 25 per ten gm on the Bombay Bullion Exchange on thin buying support.

Silver fineness .999 opened low at Rs 19,850 per kg, later it improved slightly and closed at Rs 19,890 with a loss of Rs 70 from yesterday's close of Rs 19,960.

In London, Silver edged up at USD 13.89/13.92 per troy ounce against USD 13.80/13.85 per troy ounce in New York.

Similarly, standard Gold (99.5) and pure Gold (99.9) opened weak at Rs 9,360 and Rs 9,415 per ten gm, respectively, on poor demand.

The yellow metal drifted lower and closed at Rs 9,370 and Rs 9,420 per ten gm, respectively, with a loss of Rs 25 each from its last close.

In London, Gold went up to USD 688.35/691.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 683.00/686.00 per troy ounce in New York on Thursday.

Following are the spot Silver and Gold closing prices: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 19,890 (19,960), Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 9,370 (9,395), Pure Gold 99.9 purity : Rs 9,420 (9,445).
